Pastor's Newsnotes: 2/13/2011

Congratulations and thank you to our Girl Scouts (all ranks) and to their leaders for a very successful "International Day" this past Saturday! And thank you for so honoring the memory of our dear Ana Uyemura, for whom this was a favorite day of the year. Sunday was also "Scouts' Sunday" and it was great to see our scouts and leaders at the 10 am Mass.

Regarding the 200-Day Catholic School Proposal—A lot more "holy water" has gone under the bridge since last Sunday's Bulletin. Our process for arriving at an official response at St. Rita School is near completion. We will communicate that response this week. Thank you to all those who attended the Wine Festival fundraiser at Alverno. And thanks to those who gave their time and effort in organizing this St. Rita school fundraiser.

The Blood Drive turnout was super with 24 donors—on Super Bowl Sunday. Thank you for giving the gift of life!

Thank you also for your generosity to recent special collections. Again you opened your hearts and checkbooks:

  • Haiti Relief donations totaled $3743
  • Support of St. Rita School donations totaled $4216.
