“Full authority has been given to me both in heaven and on earth; go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” —Matthew 28:18-19
When Jesus commanded his disciples to baptize all nations, he established the means by which we would die to sin and begin to live a new life with God. When we’re baptized, we are welcome into God’s family and become a member of the Body of Christ, the Church.
